The return of the Boomers

As I spend more time in NFTs, one thing is apparent. You know how the resistance of boomers have become a thing of memes and jokes usually perpetrated by the younger generations? It’s happening again. While less prevalent amongst those considered Gen Z / iGen, the Gen Xs and Gen Ys are definitely giving off similar vibes when it comes to understanding the blockchain and in particular NFTs.

As I write, the people who would read this are probably already involved in the space. This message is for those friends or family members who dismiss and disregard everything the moment a word of blockchain or NFTs are muttered.

Constant “it’s too complicated”, “I still don’t get it”, “It’s all a scam” type mentality needs to be eradicated lest we repeat the mistakes of our elders. The mistakes that we have come to make a joke of. Of how they refuse to keep up with the times, refuse to be involved, refuse to give new ideologies a chance, refuse to learn.

This technology isn’t some run of the mill trend. It’s a technology that has been built for years and is being built upon. If you have resistance to it, I invite you to try to learn again with an open mind. Remove any presumptions that you have and read with interest and wonder. Read with a mind that is willing to be marveled by the advancement our society has made.
